Prior to sending Gas Call-in, be sure to have all gas competition information and stick readings available. Follow the Gas Call-in checklist on your desktop to complete this procedure. If the Gas Call-in checklist is not available on the desktop, click the Home button and then the "Gas Call-in" button on the menu bar to activate the checklist. The initial part of the Gas Call-in checklist is for you to check your E-mail and process Receiving to upload all invoice from handheld scanner to your computer. We don't want you to lose this information.
Click the Gas Meters button on the checklist. Enter the previous date, store number, and Shift "1". Verify that the 1st Shift is polled by reviewing screen #9 (Gasoline Meter Readings). Check the total dollar amount and the total gallon amount. Make sure they match your shift report numbers. Do the same procedure for Shift 2 and 3. Exit out of Gasoline Meters Screen.
Click the Gas Sticks button on the checklist. Enter the previous date, store number, and Shift "0". Key in the fuel Gallons ending number for all grades. Save and exit your entry.
Click the Gas Competition button on the checklist. Enter the previous date, store number, and Shift "0". For each competitor, key in the dollar amount for each grade. Then for "Our Prices" key in the dollar amount each grade. Save and exit your entry.
The Gas Call-in have to be sent in by 9:00 am each day. You may get disciplinary action if it is not consistently sent in by that time. If there is a network or computer problem, please contact the I.T. department to get the issue resolved.
To send in the Gas Call-in, click "Send To Office" on the Gas Call-in checklist. During this process, the computer sends the Gas Call-in, picks up changes from the office, and updates the store computer, the register, and the handheld scanner. Additional upgrades may be included during this process. Please be patient at this time since this is when all of the equipments get their daily updates.
You can key in your previous day competitor prices only if you have verified that it hasn't changed. You can not key in your previous competitor prices assuming that it has not changed. Your daily gas prices is determined by the way the competitors is pricing their gas.
NO, gas prices are calculated based a certain formula of the cost per gallon and by the way the competitors are pricing their gas. There is no way store managers would have this information available to make pricing decisions.
